Faker has no accounts, no sign up and no server of ours. There is nothing to log in to, and we do not run a database that holds anything about you.
What you type into the app stays on your phone. The only information that leaves your device goes to Apple, Google and RevenueCat, for adverts and for handling payments, and that is described in full below.
All of this is stored on your device only. It is never uploaded to us, because there is nowhere for it to go.
Deleting the app removes this from your phone.
When you play with friends on their own phones, Faker uses Bluetooth or your local Wi-Fi network to connect the phones in the room directly to each other.
That traffic is only the game itself: the room name, players' chosen names, scores, whose turn it is, and the words being played. It goes between the phones in the room and nowhere else. It does not travel over the internet and it does not reach us. Nothing about the game is stored once the room closes.
The free version of Faker shows adverts supplied by Google AdMob. To choose which advert to show and to measure it, Google may collect information such as your device type, your general location, your advertising identifier and how you interacted with the advert.
We do not receive that information. It is handled by Google under their own policy: How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
Buying Pro removes all adverts.
Payments are handled entirely by Apple. We never see your card details, your name or your Apple ID.
We use RevenueCat to check whether a subscription is currently active. RevenueCat receives an anonymous identifier for your installation and the purchase information Apple provides. It does not receive your name or anything you have typed into the game. Their policy: revenuecat.com/privacy.
| Permission | Why |
|---|---|
| Bluetooth | To find and connect to a game hosted by someone next to you, when there is no Wi-Fi |
| Local network | To find and connect to a game on the same Wi-Fi network |
Both are used only to connect players in the same room. Neither is used to locate you, and the app asks for no other permissions.
Faker is a party game intended for a general audience. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because there are no accounts and no personal details are requested at any point, there is nothing for a child to submit to us.
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and the current version is always the one on this page.
